Empowered they gain the experience they need to become capable leaders.
Here is what they say:
“The teachers were amazing. They really invested in me! They made sure everyone understood what they were teaching, and in a fun way.’ –Myleigh
I’m glad that I’ve had the chance to have been enrolled in HFS for a full three years, because it has given me room and opportunity to grow.” –Becca
“I love this school year because of the fact that the school is small, everyone knows each other, and this means that the environment is more at ease. …This school is so different because the students make a lot of the choices, instead of only the adults.” -Robbie
“Here, I have been given the opportunity to show my true likes and interests instead of stifling them. Here I have had the freedom to express myself and my ideas without fear of being ridiculed or judged.” -Travis.
“Harford Friends has given me the true definition of friend…someone who’s there for you.” –Megan
“While HFS taught me how to be a leader, it also taught me to use my head, and that non-violence was generally better. …the path to enlightenment and self-peace was one of the legacies that HFS gave to me. It really showed me the path to becoming a true man, and not the kind of “macho guy” depicted in the movies and teen literature.” -Peter
“The faculty at HFS has always been consistent, reliable, kind, and nurturing, but yet they always held me accountable. These characteristics have been instrumental in helping me to be a better student and person.” –Reagan
