Tuition and Financial Aid

A Great Education Is More Affordable than You May Think: Investing in a Harford Friends Education
Here at Harford Friends School we endeavor to make tuition affordable. Did you know that tuition covers only about 80% of the cost of educating a child? The remainder comes from our generous donors and fund raising initiatives. We also designate 13% of our tuition income to support our financial aid program. Over 50% of our students receive need based financial aid or one of our merit based scholarships for qualifying students. These funds allow us to enroll talented, well qualified students regardless of their family’s ability to pay.
We use the formula created by the School and Student Services for Financial Aid (www.sss.nais.org) as a guide for determining a family’s financial aid award. The average financial aid gift is $3,600.
We offer three scholarships that range from a few hundred dollars to a full tuition. Each scholarship has different qualifications. The HFS Scholarship Committee awards these scholarships to students only upon acceptance into our program.
