Joyful Sounds School of Music

Joyful Sounds School of Music (JSSM) provides a stimulating age appropriate music program at HFS. JSSM’s primary objective is to promote and develop an understanding and appreciation for music as a means of expression, mode of communication, and as a disciplined artform. Through music, students gain a richer perspective of human history and its cultures. They participate by creating, playing and singing music, and develop musicianship, understanding of theory, and ear training.

Genesee Valley Outdoor Learning Center (GVOLC)

Genesse Valley Outdoor Learning Center (GVOLC) provides HFS an age appropriate team building and outdoor survival skill-building program. Genesee’s objective is to develop within students an understanding of and appreciation for themselves and one another as unique individuals. Through the GVOLC program, team members become problem-solvers, effective communicators, facilitators of a trusting environment, and healthy risk-takers.

Blue Dog Arts, LLC

Blue Dog Arts, LLC (BDA) provides an age appropriate visual arts program for HFS. Objectives include the use of visual arts to foster participation in understanding, applying, and interpreting design, color, light, symbols, and styles. Through the BDA program, students also develop fine art processes, art appreciation, and an understanding and appreciation of the interrelationship among and between various academic disciplines and the visual arts.

Eden Mill Nature Center

Founded in 1991, Eden Mill has been inspiring people to care about the environment by providing experiences that lead them to understand their connection to the natural world. Eden Mill Nature Center has 110 acres of wildlife viewing areas, a mill museum, a nature store, and hiking trails.
